Octree news · spring 2022

What can we do together?

This month, we continue our exploration of the intersections between technologies, ecologies and distributed governance.

In a nutshell:

  • Presentation of the Swiss civic tech barometer in Geneva.

  • The team is growing!

  • An introduction to self-management: feedback.

Civic tech in transition seminar #3: presentation of the Swiss civic tech barometer

Citizen participation technologies have the potential to lead the ecological transition. Switzerland is not to be outdone: led by EPFL, the Swiss Barometer of civic techs 2021 will be presented on March 28.

Genève en transition is organizing 3 meetings with Swiss players. The event is free and open to the public.

You are invited to take part online!

The team is growing!

It was getting a bit lonely on our island, so we welcomed a few new occupants (from left to right):

  • Edouard (Geneva) does user research and UX design

  • Renato (Brazil) RoR engineer on Decidim

  • Simon (nomad) front and sustainable development

  • Sophia (Geneva) creates partnerships for Caroster

Octree is now global and local. That's a lot of work for us. In every sense of the word. We look forward to remaking the world with you, soon.

Self-management: a path rather than a goal?

Feedback from a self-managed arrival at Octree: Edouard joined the team in November 2021 to practice UX design and user research.

It looks like it's going well
